This Privacy Policy describes how ChainView ("we", "us", or "our"), a product of the Aelion Group, collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our DeFi portfolio analytics platform at chainview.io.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: Email address and password (hashed) when you create an account via Firebase Authentication.
• Wallet addresses: Public blockchain addresses you choose to add to your dashboard. These are public on-chain identifiers.
• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, session duration, and error logs for service improvement.
• Device and technical data: Browser type, IP address, operating system, and referrer URL.

2. What We Never Collect

• Private keys or seed phrases — we never ask for them
• Transaction signing permissions
• Payment card data (we use third-party payment processors if billing applies)
• Sensitive personal identification documents

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the ChainView analytics service
• To authenticate you and manage your account securely
• To send important service notifications (not marketing, unless opted-in)
• To detect, prevent, and address security incidents
• To comply with applicable legal obligations

4. Third-Party Services

ChainView uses the following third-party services which have their own privacy policies:

• Firebase (Google): Authentication and data storage — Firebase Privacy
• Blockchain RPC providers: We query public blockchain data using read-only API calls
• Vercel: Hosting and edge network delivery

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS/TLS encryption, Firebase security rules, and regular security reviews. However, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing hello@chainview.io. We will process your request within 30 days.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data

• Object to or restrict processing of your data

8. Cookies

ChainView uses minimal cookies for authentication session management (via Firebase) and localStorage for user preferences (such as dismissing the onboarding tooltip). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

ChainView is not directed at individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
